BYLAWS OF MAINE TENNIS FOUNDATION INC (EXCERPT)

ARTICLE lll PURPOSES
The purpose of this corporation shall be: To Establish, conduct, maintain and operate a nonprofit charitable, scientific and educational organization and for such other non-profitable purposes in such a manner that no part of its net income or property shall inure to the private benefit of any donator, member, officer, trustee or individual having a personal interest in the activities of the organization; and in furtherance of aforesaid general charitable purposes and without limiting the generality of the foregoing: A) to promote amateur tennis in and about the State of Maine to stimulate interest in tennis in schools, playgrounds, parks: to encourage, coach, and instruct junior and adult players of all ages, abilities and handicaps: to organize and manage tennis tournaments and exhibitions to encourage more young people and adults of all ages and handicaps to play tennis; to cooperate with Maine Tennis Association Inc and recognized associations for the promotion of amateur tennis and the instruction of youth; and generally to promote education, sportsmanship, recreation, and health in the community.
Notwithstanding any other provisions of these bylaws, the Corporation shall not conduct or carry on any activities not permitted to be conducted or carried on by a Corporation exempt from Federal Income taxation under Section 501 ( C ) (3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code and its regulations as they now exist or as they may hereafter be amended or by a Corporation without capital stock organized under title 13, Chapter 81 of the 1964 Revised Statutes of the State of Maine and amendments thereto.
